Why can't I edit my application?
You can edit a draft application form. Once you submit the application, the application form is locked.
If the BCA issues a request for information (RFI) during the Lodgement stage, then the system unlocks the application for editing. When you submit your RFI response, the application form is locked again.
After the application form is accepted, the form becomes a record of the accepted application (it is never edited again) and the data is transferred to the council system.
From this point, you and the BCA maintain the information and evidence associated with the project as the work progresses. You do this by creating supporting applications against the consent and by loading documents or information via tabs on the tabs in the system. For example, your builder or your BCA inspector load details of the licensed building practitioners (LBPs) as Participants, your LBPs lodge records of work for restricted building work and other documents to the project's Required Documents, and so on.
Locking the application after submission ensures the data being vetted (for lodgement) or assessed is current. If you have changes you need to make to your application, then please contact your BCA.
After your submission is lodged, you may manage the participants at any time from the People tab of the application overview. Changing a participant at this level has no effect on a submitted application.
